Black Polaris ; Envisage EP

Becky Browning

I’m proud to show off an immense Herts based band who ooze professional melodic metalcore! These lucky lads have shared shows with the likes of Martyr Defiled, Devil Sold His Soul and many more.

Black Polaris are a foursome made up of school friends who formed back in July 2009.

This gorgeous bunch consist of:
Sam Burgess (VOCALS)
Paul Futter (GUITAR)
Gaz Groombridge (GUITAR)
Luke Jackson (BASS)
– Drummer to be announced.

This EP titled ‘Envisage’ is something other bands may have a run for their money with! Full of serious riffs and disgusting breakdowns along with drumming to die for, you’re gonna be blown away after listening to this 5 track.

Track ‘Envisage’ opens the EP very well with tight vocals and a good melodic sound. Using awesome and complex guitaring, they’ve given us a treat here.

Prepare to be totally engrossed in ‘Power, Corruption’ as these clever boys lay down a gripping intro, mysterious keyboarding and riffage to die for. Seeing this track performed live at a show would be brutal and worth the ticket.

Probably my absolute favourite single from the EP is ‘Oblivion’, giving you the same feeling as sex, chocolate, alcohol, drugs, spoons and free stuff all put together. I suggest you DO NOT play this song without some serious volume. The vocals are brilliant, a definite scream-a-long to track.

A good paced melodic song with quirky little breakdowns is ‘Mountains’. Aggressive vocals which everyone can relate to. Play this loud to for an emotional ride!

The lads have come up with a clever little end piece called ‘Valleys’ using mysterious background keyboard, there’s a very layered and seriously sexy track here. Breakdown and vocals are completely spot on, as per. Literally expect nothing less when it comes to Black Polaris.

Grab a copy of the EP for only £3 from http://blackpolaris.bandcamp.com/ It’s worth the pennies!!

Also why not check the lads out themselves. You can stay up to date with new singles, EP’s, merch and tour info at https://www.facebook.com/blackpolarisuk
