Toy Horses

Trans-Atlantic Welsh Due ‘Toy Horses’ have impressed global stages, from 2010 SXSW to praise from BBC’s Tom Robinson to being invited to write for some of the world’s biggest selling artists including Jason Derulo and Sean Kingston.

Adam D Franklin and Tom Williams now present their debut self-titled album with 10 original tracks which were recorded in just 10 days on Music Row in Nashville, TN.

No One’s Ever Gonna Leave You contains catchy lyrics which you can be picked up with ease. The lyrics are also very relatable to a large audience. With the song’s catchy beat, it projects a summery feeling and you can imagine the song being played across many BBQ’s in the summer sunshine.

Interrupt is another great song, in particular, to showcase the variety of bands musical talents. It is from this point you realise that no two tracks on the album are in any case too similar and do not blend together into one, like most albums these days. Each track is distinctive in its own right.

Love At An Arms Length provides good advice for us all with its lyrics and again with a consistent catchy strong beat. Loyal To The Cause contains a strong opening, catchy beat and once more from the band – catchy lyrics; a trait that is portrayed throughout the album.

Oh Violet and Sordid Little World have an acoustic feel and show the versatility of the lead singers vocals once again. The vocals manage to suit the slower album tracks well, yet also encapsulate the beat of the faster tracks.

Overall, the album consists of a collection of well-written tracks. It is a great summer soundtrack if you want a day relaxing in the sunshine having a drink and chilling out, or if this is not your thing – a live festival set would definitely suit the band. There are consistently strong vocals throughout the album and catchy beats transcending track-by-track. With their lyrics and tone these tracks are a strong mix to showcase the band’s talent in the best possible way.
