Beyonce has confirmed this week that she will be performing at this year’s Glastonbury Festival.

There has been no official announcement from the festival organiser as of yet, but the singer has confirmed that she will be performing.

Beyonce revealed she will perform on the main ‘Pyramid Stage’ with a 90-minute show to round off this summer’s event on Sunday June 26th.

Beyonce explained her excitement;

“This really is the biggest festival in the world and I cannot wait to perform there. Everyone who attends is really appreciative of music and is in such a good mood that entire weekend. I’m pumped just thinking about that huge audience and soaking up their energy.”

In 2008 Beyonce attended the festival to see Jay-Z perform, but this is the first year the artist shall be performing there herself.

Glastonbury Festival 2011 takes place on June 24th-26th at Worthy Farm, Somerset.

There will be a second batch of tickets for sale this spring.
