Brit Awards announce more changes for 2011 ceremony

The Brit Awards have revealed more changes for the 2011 ceremony, by dropping the ‘Outstanding Contribution’ award and adapting the Brits statues.

Earlier in the year the organisers announced a change of venue and now have revealed a few more details of what to expect.

Next year shall see the ‘Outstanding Contribution’ award dropped, and in place the ceremony shall end with the ‘Mastercard British Album Of The Year’ award.

The organisers have also revealed the traditional Brit award statue shall have a makeover, thanks to a variety of designers.

The new awards have been described as a “blank canvas” and each year a different designer shall be chosen to give the blank awards an over-haul.

For the ceremony next year, Vivienne Westwood has been chosen to design the awards.

The ceremony shall take place on February 15th at its new home at London’s O2 Arena.
