Cat Power To Headline Eden Festival

The third and final batch of headline acts to play at this year’s Eden Festival have been announced with Cat Power and 2ManyDJs joining the bill.

This will be the festival’s 9th year, and from humble beginnings it has become Scotland’s second largest music festival set in the stunning Raehill Meadows, Dumfries and Galloway.

More acts to join the line-up include Agnes Obel, Jazzanova, Kismet, Featurecast, The Langan Band, Elephant Sessions, SketchHeron ValleyHave Mercy Las Vegas, plus very special guest Mr Motivator!

Headliner Cat Power has worked with everyone from Dave Grohl to Faithless. She is an artist who is known for her ability to adapt and evolve her sound with a mix of blues, soul, electronica and a sprinkling of punk.

The creation of brothers David and Stephen Dewaele (Soulwax), revellers can expect a totally rad set from mashup pioneers 2ManyDJs with sets that go from trendy hip hop to banging German Techno.

Denmark’s Agnes Obel is an award-winning musician with two platinum selling albums under her belt. She will be bringing her female classically trained band; expect keys, cello’s, drums and clarinets, and stunning vocals.

A little bit of Bollywood will be appearing at Eden too in the form of Kismet, a six-piece band fusing funky, bhangra, reggae and rock.

Co- Director Meredith Langley Vine says, “We can’t believe the amazing amount of talented and revered artists coming to this year’s Eden Festival, it really is starting to attract a stampede of established acts as the festival grows and evolves.”

As the notoriously family friendly festival evolves the festival have also announced funding from  EventScotland through their National Funding Programme. Their head Stuart Turner has called Eden Festival a “great boost” for the local area bringing in visitors and locals to enjoy world-class acts.
