If you’re looking to bring in the New Year with a Scottish flavour, you may want to grab a standing spot at the Scottish Stage.

Three Scottish acts will sing in the New Year with a host of fiddles, pipes, banjos and guitars offering a true taste of the traditional.

To get you in the mood, we take a look at the three acts taking to the Frederick Street stage.

Fiddlers’ Bid

Shetland-based group Fiddler’s Bid perform traditional Shetland tunes with the fiddle, acoustic guitar,bass guitar and piano.

Expect a true Scottish knees-up to help you get warmed up with the sound of the pipes in the air as you join arms with the strangers around you and make new friends throughout the night.

King Creosote

King Creosote will bring a flavour of Fife across the water.

Kenny Anderson has also been nominated for the Mercury Prize and has over 40 music releases from Queen of Brush County in 1998 to a re-release with ‘That Might Well Be It, Darling’ this year.

Treacherous Orchestra

Hailing from all the corners of Scotland from Perthshire to Loch Ness, Treacherous Orchestra will follow on from the Fiddler’s footsteps with banjo, pipes, drums, fiddles, whistles and guitars.

The group performed their first large gig at Celtic Connections in 2009 and have since toured the UK including slots at Folk Festivals and Hyde Park.
