Festival Friday; featuring T In The Park, Ghostfest first band announcement, Sonisphere update and Hevy Headliners

Here’s a list of our updates from the festivals across the week!

T In The Park
Newly announced acts are; Leftfield, 2manydjs, Calvin Harris, Felix Da Housecat, Swedish House Mafia and Silicone Soul.

V Festival
The only update this week is that tickets for this year’s festival have already sold out!

Sonisphere
Slipknot have announced that original member Donnie Steele will re-join the band for this summer’s gigs!
This week the announcement has also arrived that festival go-ers will now never have to choose between big-name acts, as the Sonisphere ‘boss’ Stuart Galbraith told ROCKAAA that he has ‘pledged to keep the festival’s traditional rotating stage system – indefinitely’.

Slam Dunk
Three new bands were announced for the main events in Leeds and Hatfield; Dance Gavin Dance (who will be joined by singer Jonny Craig for the shows), This Time Next Year and A Loss For Words.

Glastonbury
This week the only announcement is strangely about a new stage…the brand new addition to this year’s festival shall be in the form of a 12-metre-high bullring made from lock gates, which will be used ‘for a whole range of performances’ as Glastonbury founder Micheal Eavis told The Mercury.

Leeds/Reading
Reading Festival organisers have revealed that the residents’ pre-sale tickets shall go on sale 36 hours in advance of the general release tickets. Residents of Reading will be able to buy their tickets from 7am on Sunday 20th March until 2pm on Monday 21st March then General release tickets will be on sale from 7pm on Monday 21st March. To check if your postcode falls within the residence limits visit the Reading Festival website now!

Ghostfest
This week brought the first announcement from Ghostfest with headliners Suicide Silence. Other acts announced are Your Demise, Deez Nuts, Annotations Of An Autopsy, Ingested, Brutality Will Prevail, Heights, Last Witness, Against The Flood and Polar.

Hit The Deck
The only announcement revealed today was that via Twitter the festival confirmed that the wristbands for this year’s are going to be material…

Hevy
Headliners were revealed in Dillinger Escape Plan. Other acts set to appear include Architects, Bouncing Souls, We Are The Ocean and Your Demise.
