Introducing | Adelphia

With a new line-up in place, we caught up with Adelphia.

Following the success of their recent single release ‘Better Off’ and their dates across the UK with In Hindsight, we chatted with Adelphia to find out more about their band beginnings, live sets and future plans.

Can you tell us more about how you formed back in 2013?

Rik posted an advert on joinmyband.com and met Nick from there. We jammed and made 4 songs before recruiting Joe and some temporary members to boost the line-up. After a short time, we found our ex-bassist Jay and formed the initial line-up for which Adelphia was launched. In late February 2015, Jay departed from the band, but we carried on as a three-piece, toured the UK with session players and since then have recruited two new permanent members. Now, we are back to writing and performing!

Are there any bands in particular that you take influence from?

You Me At Six, Mallory Knox, Don Broco and Deaf Havana.

For those who haven’t stumbled across your music, which track would you recommend to kick things off?

’If I Fall‘ – we are all pretty proud of that song and it’s a great example of the kinda music that we want to put out.

How would you describe a live set from Adelphia?

A fun-filled banter session with some melodic tunes to fill the gaps. No Nandos, though.

What has been your favourite show to-date?

Rock City main stage as part of Hit The Deck Festival holds such a nostalgic and influential value to us, so that has to be our favourite show to date.

If you could headline any venue in the UK, where would it be and why?

I suppose the O2 Arena is THE goal for our kind of band to play, but main stage Reading and Leeds Festival would be amazing too!

What do you guys have planned for the rest of 2015?

Writing, recording and playing shows.

Anything else you wish to add?

Ainsley, where are you?
