Introducing | The Floodgates

Meet The Floodgates – a young three-piece acoustic rock band hailing from Tunbridge Wells, taking their influence from Mumford & Sons, Bruce Springsteen, Jeff Buckley and Tom Odell.

They’re preparing to release their debut single ‘You’ on the 13th October, following the release of their debut EP ‘God Knows’ earlier this year.

Just over a year since their formation in the early summer of 2013, the trio (Martin Stenning, Tim Fullbrook and Alex Wane) who are just 17 years old and still in school, have a host of success already under their belts.

Originally a folk-rock duo, the full line-up of The Floodgates consists of both acoustic and electric guitar, drums/cajon, bass, piano and three vocal lines, plus session pianist Sander Priston.

The boys were invited to play at the open day of heavyweight boxing champion David Haye’s gym after a morning of busking in London, which lead onto them playing at ColdHarbour Festival and headlining ‘Show Us Yer Guns’ at Tunbridge Wells Forum.

You can listen to their tracks over on their soundcloud and if you like what you hear be sure to keep up with them on Twitter and Facebook.
