Introducing | Twin Forks

TwinForks-Final-55-b_rich_approvedsmallYou may recognise the vocals masked behind the sound of folk rock band Twin Forks.

Headed up by front man Chris Carrabba, formerly of Dashboard Confessional, the band has just released their self-titled album via iTunes.

But it’s not only inspirations from Dashboard Confessional that are present with the new sound, as the other band members bring a taste of The Narrative and Bad Books into the mix with Suzie Zeldin on vocals and mandolin, bassist Jonathan Clark and drummer Ben Homola.

So how did these musicians combine their talents?

Chris decided he wanted to return to his childhood influences combining classic folk with country music.

He spent three years teaching himself the traditional guitar fingerpicking technique and created Twin Forks meeting fellow musicians who would collaborate between tours.

Speaking of their group, Chris Carrabba said: “When I started playing acoustic-based music I wasn’t trying to avoid traditional folk because I didn’t love it, I just loved it so much and didn’t wanna do an injustice to it.

“I had other influences and I thought, ‘why can’t I combine this punk and hardcore feeling with this classic folk feeling?’ because they were both such massive loves of mine.

“5But right now I’m more excited about utilizing the age-old, time-tested thing and trying to excel within the parameters of a traditional template.”

With an idea and band members in line, Carrabba converted a space into his own studio and the group met recording more than 20 tracks for their debut album release.

Following the album, the group will release their debut single ‘Cross My Mind‘ on March 17th to coincide with their live dates across the UK.
