Eras

Forming in early 2010, Eras plan to take on their assault of the alternative music scene this year.

With a large following and supporting the likes of Not Advised, Xcerts and Flood Of Red under their belt and an EP release this Autumn, we spoke to Nick and Paul from the band to allow them to introduce themselves to you.

Firstly, how did the band come up with the name Eras?
We originally formed from 2 different bands, just seemed appropriate as we’re starting a new Era in our musical careers

Which artists would you say have the strongest musical influence on the band?
Like most people we listen to a whole load of different music from periods of time, but main influences would be Thrice, Jimmy Eat World, Circa Survive, Hopesfall, The Dangerous Summer that kind of thing.

Why did you decide to film your music video in your home town?
Stupid to not take advantage of the Scottish loch’s, we did it at ‘Loch Earn’ really nice place!

How much say did you have in the video process?
Peter Holliday did our latest video, we really liked his previous work so gave him complete control on the video process. We’re all really happy with how it turned out.

What has been your favourite city that you’ve performed in?
Edinburgh, we’ve managed to play some cool shows with bands like Not Advised, Flood Of Red, Xcerts & more!

What would you say is the highlight of the band’s career so far?
Getting the video for ‘When Its Good (Its Good)’ on Kerrang TV.

Which support slot to-date has been your favourite?
Flood Of Red last December, Edinburgh at Sneaky Pete’s. The gig was sold out… great vibes haha!

What would be your ideal tour line-up to be a part of?
Eras, Thrice, Jimmy Eat World… it’s gonna happen!

How would you describe your debut EP in 3 words?
bonnie, pal, ken (For those of you who aren’t Scottish this website may help ;))

What do you want to have achieved as a band by the end of 2011?
Have our next EP recorded & ready for an early 2012 release.

You can find out more about the band on their Facebook Page now!
