The dates will form part of a European tour but will only be visiting London, Manchester and Birmingham in the UK, with two shows in each city.
The timing of the tour has led to speculation that they may also be headlining Glastonbury 2013.
The band is also expected to release their 6th studio album next year, the follow-up to 2010’s ‘Come Around Sundown’.
