Hertfordshire’s Club Drive were tasked with the mission to bring the Liquid Rooms to life for headliners Mariana’s Trench.
A surprisingly large crowd had gathered for the main support slot, which was just 20 minutes after doors, as younger fans were already clutching onto the barrier ready to go.
Immediately ramping up the energy, Club Drive’s bass-driven tracks were quick to make the crowd interact with ‘Voyager’ a special treat as fans began clapping along.
With a high energy set, Club Drive immediately echoed the vibe of fellow guitar-pop band Maroon 5, with an added underlying 70’s vibe which brought a new element to their sound and managed to get the crowd grooving.
During the set, the band experienced a slight technical hitch, but instead of slowing the pace mid-show, they quickly transported their set into an acoustic setting which managed to keep the crowd engaged throughout. When it was time to step it up again, the single took a new lease of life and added a live twist which worked well.
Ending on BBC Radio 1 favourite ‘Spare Time’, it was hard not to move along as their infectious energy, shining harmonies and enthusiasm had captured the crowd with their catchy pop rock set.
With festival slots lined up at The Great Escape, Lovebox and Standing Calling, Club Drive are ready to get you dancing into summer and judging by their set on the night, their tracks will quickly be making their way onto our summer playlists.
