Last week we headed down to Brudenell Social Club, Leeds to check out the Communion Music: New Faces Tour featuring Charlotte OC, Freddie Dickson, Frances and TenterHook.
We entered the room to be instantly mesmerised by Charlotte OC’s haunting voice and energetic stage presence. With an ever-growing fan base and being invited to play festivals over the globe such as Bestival in Toronto, it’s onwards and upwards for Charlotte OC!
Up next was Freddie Dickson who had us hooked from the moment he graced the stage. With his quirky presence and powerful voice our personal favourites were ‘News’, ‘Hideout’ and new single ‘Speculate’. Definitely one to watch for the future!
The talent kept flowing throughout the evening as smoke emerged from the stage and we were ready for the next act – singer/songwriter Frances from London. The simplicity of this tour, introducing new talent with just their instrument and voice was refreshing and created a great atmosphere for gig-goers.
Frances took to the stage with just her keyboard and absolutely beautiful voice. Her incredible tone and catchy chorus’ left us dazzled for days! Frances played tracks ‘Shadow Heart’, ‘High Hopes’ and ‘Grow’ which will be the lead track from her debut EP that will be released shortly! Keep your eyes peeled!
Last to take to stage was singer/songwriter Tenterhook. His vulnerable essence and distinct voice had the audience hooked. It’s the perfect acoustic vibe for a chilled day or a perfect summers road trip. Our favourite tracks were ‘Whispers’ and ‘Chemicals’.
The Communion Music: New Faces Tour is perfect for those gig-goers who love to stumble across new talent. Watching on from the crowd, it was hard to believe that these acts were not bigger than what they are now. The stage oozed with raw talent that deserve every bit of recognition. It’s tours like these that allow individuals to find that new favourite track or artist and gives the talent an opportunity to build their fan base and spread the word.
