Live Review | Fatherson | Hard Rock Rocks

Kicking off the debut Hard Rock Rocks festival, Fatherson rocked the Spiegeltent.

The show provided an intimate gig for the band, showcasing some of their new tracks from their second album release due out later this year.

Just weeks after signing a record deal with Easy Life Records/Sony, their set was a great way to kick things off and their new material was received well by fans.

With their new songs mixed into the set, it was easy to hear the progression the band has made with their sound over the years.

Despite the small crowd, a group down the front were more than eager to start mini mosh pits and even began the famous Scottish ‘here we go’ chant mid-set.

Frontman Ross Leighton’s vocals were on top form throughout and highlights in their set included ‘Mine For Me‘, ‘James‘ and ‘Hometown‘.

Overall, the gig was a great way for the band to ease into their festival packed summer including slots at Belladrum, Doune The Rabbit Hole and Midstock. If the live versions of their new tracks are anything to go by, it seems their second album is certainly one to watch out for.
