Live Review | Fort Hope | Electric Circus

Following their recent ‘Manne Of Lawe’ EP release, Fort Hope headlined Edinburgh’s Electric Circus.

Heading to Scotland’s capital as the first Scottish date on the tour, the alt-rock trio showcased a mix of old fan favourites with new tracks from their recent EP release, providing singalong moments and time to stop and enjoy the new sounds.

The trio opened with their recent single release ‘That’s The Way The River Flows’ and there was no easing into the set as they powered straight into the track, with frontman Jon Gaskin’s impressive vocal range evident from the get-go.

On the night, fans were also treated to the first listen of some brand new tracks which were a strong sign of things to come. In particular, ‘Something Of The Lake’ with its chorus ready and waiting for a singalong and poppier track ‘Give Me That’ sounding set for the summer.

Unsurprisingly, it was the older songs on the night which drew the biggest response as the small crowd sang and danced along, with particular highlights ‘Sick’ and ‘Plans’.

After catching the guys at Slam Dunk Festival last year, it was clear to see how the band’s sound has tightened and how their live performance is slicker than ever.

Fort Hope created a set perfect to get ready for the summer festival season and we can’t wait to hear more from the trio as they inevitably start to climb the UK’s rock ladder.
