Live Review | High Tyde | Electric Circus

Indie rockers High Tyde celebrated the release of their new EP at Edinburgh’s Electric Circus.

Bringing the party to town, the night kickstarted with a top choice of support band in the form of London indie rockers HAUS.

Crafting a blend of hip-hop, electro and indie, HAUS unique sound is bound to appeal to a wide fan base with frontman Ashley Mulimba’s distinctive vocals leading the way.

With an 80’s vibe throughout the set, ready to get you grooving, set highlights included dance-along track ‘Two Minds’. Judging by their snippet set, we already can’t wait for them to return to Scotland.

As HAUS had well and truly kickstarted the night, Brighton lads High Tyde were set to embrace the energy in the room.

Managing to create the atmosphere of a larger gig in the small space, thanks to additional lighting production and high energy throughout, the band had more than enough reasons to party as they celebrated the release of their fantastic new EP ‘Real’.

Treating the crowd to tracks from the new release alongside a mix from their previous EPs, their set was overflowing with catchy tracks which flowed together with ease as they were guaranteed to get you moving.

With slick electro elements set against the traditional indie rock sound at its core, frontman Cody Thomas-Matthews vocals sound made for the mould with standout tracks including ‘Speak’, ‘One Bullet’ and ‘Do What You Want’.

The rising indie rockers showcased an extremely strong collection of tracks from across their four-year career. The night proved they are ready for much larger stages and judging by their latest EP release, these venues will soon be awaiting their presence as the word gets around town.
