Live Review | Lisbon | Electric Circus

Whitley Bay four-piece Lisbon headlined Edinburgh’s Electric Circus during their biggest headline UK tour to date.

Bringing their tropical indie pop sound to the intimate venue, the band launched straight into their well-polished set with no messing around.

With full energy and powerful vocals from frontman Matthew Varty, each track was packed with catchy lyrics and contagious beats. It’s hard to believe the guys have yet to release an album as they consistently delivered quality songs.

From pop injected tune ‘Good 2 Me’, which had elements of Maroon 5, to indie tracks ‘Native’ and ‘B L U E L O V E’, the band could easily appeal to a wider audience with their genre crossover.

The small crowd was in good spirits throughout the night with many dancing along down the front of the stage, however, the band could have interacted more with the full crowd to introduce newer fans to the band.

Lisbon are definitely ones to keep an eye on and we expect a bright future for the four-piece.

No doubt it won’t be long until you spot the Whitley Bay boys branded on festival posters across the UK, bringing their tropical indie pop to a field near you.
