Live Review | Nina Nesbitt | Hard Rock Rocks

Just hours before her show at Hard Rock Rocks, Nina Nesbitt announced the set would be her last performance of her debut album ‘Peroxide’.

Released in 2014, the album reached number 11 in the UK charts and landed Nina her second UK top 40 single.

To celebrate the release, she would return to her hometown of Edinburgh with a show at the Spiegeltent.

The confident singer came across very well on stage with her relaxed and down to earth attitude making everyone feel like they’d been invited into her living room for a wee chat and song.

During the set, she took the time to chat with fans, dish out a few final copies of her album and at one point even had fan on stage to sing a duet of her track ‘Two Worlds Away‘.

Throughout the show, she scattered a few new songs into the mix asking fans to refrain from recording the tracks on their phones to keep the singles a secret until their release. A move which the crowd happily agreed, adding a special feeling to the show that those in the room were first to enjoy a sneak peek of her new release.

If the snippet of new tracks was anything to go by, it seems her forthcoming release is certainly one to look out for, while classics including ‘Mr C‘ and ‘The Hardest Part‘ reminded fans of why her debut album was such a hit.

Inviting the crowd for an intimate show to celebrate the success of her release, with the special chance to listen to a few new tracks, the gig was the perfect ending to the Peroxide era.

And it seems any time Nina wants to return the capital, Edinburgh would be more than happy to have her home.
