Live Review | Seaway | Leeds Key Club

Seaway - Love Music; Love Life

Following the release of their new album ‘Vacation’, Seaway hit the road across the UK before heading back to tour America and their native land of O’Canada with the lads in Neck Deep.

We headed to their packed out Leeds show at The Key Club to see the boys in action with support from LizzyFarrall and Woes.

With an energetic set, Woes certainly got the crowd warmed up and ready to go in time for Seaway to hit the stage. Ensuring optimum crowd participation, the boys covered Papa Roach’s ‘Last Resort’ which went down an absolute treat, as well as playing their brand new track, ‘Real World’. It’s guaranteed that Woes are onto a winner in 2018 having already supported the likes of Neck Deep last year. Watch this space for these lively Scottish lads to take over…..

Now, it wouldn’t be a vacation tour without rocking up to play your full set in sunglasses right?! That’s exactly what Seaway frontman Ryan Locke did and he absolutely owned it. Opening with ‘Best Mistake’, they had the whole room ready to get down and sing their hearts out of the rest of the night. Keeping with the theme, there were keen ‘surfers’ throughout the set making for an energetic crowd with everyone getting involved.

Playing a mixture of old and new, the crowd were singing along word for word and getting rowdy with the classic chant of, ‘YORKSHIRE, YORKSHIRE, YORKSHIRE’. You know your set is going down well when the people of Yorkshire get their chant on.

Key Club is always a great venue for intimate shows and this was no exception. Highlights included tracks from ‘Vacation’ such as ‘Apartment’, ‘London’ and all-time favourite, ‘Lula On The Beach’.

Just by looking around the packed out venue, it was clear every single person was having the best time with their friends or rocking it solo and just being a part of the show.

Overall, Seaway provided an extremely hot and sweaty, lively show with hits from start to finish to the delight of the dedicated crowd in Leeds. Let’s hope the boys enjoyed their vacation to Leeds as much as we enjoyed having them visit!

Now to jam to ‘Lula on The Beach’ for the next week……
