Live Review | Single By Sunday | Electric Circus

With a queue snaked down Market Street as groups of girls gathered excitedly outside, Single By Sunday returned to Edinburgh for a sold out show.

Despite only marking their second appearance in the capital, the Glasgow guys dedicated fan base had made their way East, sporting Single by Sunday T-shirts with some even singing out loud in the queue.

As soon as the band stepped onto the stage the crowd chanted ‘SBS’, as phone lights flashed and girls screamed, it was easy to forget you were nestled into an intimate gig as the guys managed to create a mini hysteria in the cosy venue.

The energetic four-piece maintained high energy throughout the night with their enthusiastic set packed with cheerful tunes and guitar jumps Busted would be proud off.

With song intros clearly reflecting their inspirations, from Blink 182 to 5SOS, the guys provided an uplifting start to the weekend as they bounded across the stage throughout their set with infectious smiles and energy, ensuring to stop to chat to their fans throughout the show.

Set highlight came in the form of ‘Romeo’ with its bounding beat and contagious chorus that still manages to sneak into our head days after the show. Other notable tracks on the night included ‘Get Up Get Out’ and title track ‘Single By Sunday’.

With their forthcoming headliner at Glasgow’s O2 ABC set to kickstart 2017 with a main room performance to 1,300+ fans, we’re sure you’ll be hearing a lot more from the cheery chaps who are guaranteed to put a smile on your face.
