Live Review | The View | O2 ABC Glasgow

Hats off to The View!

10 years since their debut album, ‘Hats off to the Buskers’, was released, the boys from Dundee are taking a break, but not before going out in style with three dates at the iconic ABC in Glasgow.

Supported by Miracle Glass Company and Pretty Vicious, who performed two very different sets with unusually contradictory tempos, it was time for The View to bring all their ‘best bits’ to the stage for an hour set that fans were proud of.

Storming the stage with ‘Grace’ the four-piece were welcomed with open arms by the sold-out crowd on a cold Wednesday night.

Up for a party, The View fans do not shy away from a good dance, sing and chant which frontman Kyle encourages no end!

Classics like ‘5 Rebecca’s’ and ‘Skag Trendy’ got the crowd going while lesser-known ones from more recent albums, such as ‘Living’, got a rousing reaction from die-hard fans, of which there were a lot.

It is obvious from the crowd turn out and reaction that The View have earned an incredibly passionate and loyal fan base over the past ten years.

The surprise of the evening, for me, was when Kyle took it down a notch with an acoustic set of ‘Face for the Radio’ and ‘Tacky Tattoo’ which was performed on the piano.

Rounding off the night with trademark tune ‘Same Jeans’ and anthems ‘Superstar Tradesman’ and ‘Shock Horror’ the boys from Dundee made sure the crowd wouldn’t forget this night in a hurry!

You’ll find The View’s full back catalogue on most streaming services now and I highly recommend going back and giving them a listen – one thing is for certain, they are a band that know how to make a good tune!
