Live Review | Twin Atlantic | Dunkeld

twin atlanticWell it seems Twin Atlantic are certainly back. They’ve revealed new music, performed an intimate Highland Tour and lined up various festival performances for the summer.

The boys have been working on their new album ‘Great Divide’ which is due for release on August 18th.

When I heard they were playing a 200 capacity venue, hidden in the tiny town of Dunkeld, I had to check it out….

Opening for Twin Atlantic on their Highlands Tour was singer/songwriter Michael Cassidy from Paisley who grabbed my attention immediately with his soulful tones and stage presence. It was hard to believe it was just him and his guitar with the way he managed to captivate the audience.

With the lights dimming and Queen’s ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ playing, the crowd were eager for the Twin Atlantic boys to grace the stage. The infamous Scottish cheer of ‘Here We, Here we f*cking Go’ echoed throughout the tiny hall.

Opening with ‘Yes, I Was Drunk’ the crowd erupted and Twin Atlantic were well and truly back.

They also played new tracks such as ‘I Am An Animal’, ‘Fall Into The Party’ and new single ‘Heart and Soul’ which was received greatly by the crowd, many singing the words back.

It was hard to believe Twin Atlantic were playing to an intimate crowd of just 200 people, the band played with such passion and energy that they could have quite easily been playing to thousands.

Other tracks included ‘Edit Me’, ‘Lightspeed’ and some oldies including ‘A Guidance From Colour’.

However, it was ‘Crash Land’ that made the night that extra special. With frontman Sam McTrusty appearing on stage with an acoustic guitar and the crowd ready to sing their hearts out, you couldn’t help but feel proud to be Scottish.

Twin Atlantic are sounding better than ever with an array of music new and old that you can’t help sing-a –long to and feel part of something very special.

Make sure you check them out, you won’t be left disappointed, I promise.

The band’s new single, ‘Heart and Soul’ is out on May 25th and the boys will be playing Radio one’s Big Weekend this week.
