Live Review | Twin Atlantic | La Belle Angele

There’s always something special about the moment when Twin Atlantic take to the stage in Scotland.

Headlining Edinburgh’s La Belle Angele to celebrate the announcement of their fourth studio album release ‘GLA’, the sold out show took place on the same day the band’s triple night headliner at Glasgow’s Barrowlands went on sale.

Turning up the temperature in the intimate venue, the band gave fans a taster of their new release intertwined with old classics from 2011’s album release ‘Free’, showcasing why Twin have continued to charm music lovers across the years producing intense high energy hits.

With dedicated fans squeezed down the front proudly sporting their Twin tees to those standing with pints at the back of the room, the band easily appeal to a wide age range who were spotted singing every lyric out loud.

Without prompt, the crowd were almost out-powering the band’s vocals at points during the set, particularly during the enchanting acoustic edition of ‘Crash Land’ shining a spotlight on frontman Sam McTrusty’s vocals.

The fans seemed just as receptive to the newer tracks from opener ‘Gold Elephant: Cherry Alligator’ through to stand out single ‘No Sleep’ which turned up the punk rock dial on the night – complete with a stage dive from Sam.

Marking itself as one of the sweatiest gigs we’ve ever been to, the floor of the venue even managed to resemble a trampoline as the crowd jumped their way through the night.

It’s undeniable the talent that Twin Atlantic possess, managing to create a set list full of top tunes delivered with a performance of high energy and engagement.

The electric atmosphere certainly geared fans up for their new album release raising the anticipation for ‘GLA’, due out on September 9th via Red Bull Records.
