It’s hard to believe Vistas surfaced on the scene just one year ago with the release of ‘Sign Language’.

Fast-forward through 2017, the band quickly gained a reputation for their catchy singles as they made their way onto Spotify’s top playlists and joined the line-up for festivals from TRNSMT to Bestival.

Bringing their recent Scottish tour to a close with a sold-out show at The Mash House, the band strolled on stage to the Trainspotting narrative (a nod to their hometown heritage) as they were welcomed home by a packed crowd. Opening with catchy single ‘Medicine’, the band’s fans were out in force with overpowering singalongs from the first note.

Within the set, ‘Summer’ was a notable track which managed to stand out from the rest, with its sun-kissed vibes transporting you straight back to festival season. Spotify listed singles ‘Hold Me’ and ‘Strong Swimmer’ showcased the band’s accustomed refined sound and helped increase interaction with their strong choruses in tow.

With no album release behind them, Vistas have evidentially already found the formula to creating contagious indie rock tracks. This formula seems without flaw when each track is listened to recorded, but within the setlist, this resulted in a lack of distinction when performed live, with some of the tracks almost blending into one due to this repetition.

Despite certain similarities when tracks were performed back-to-back, it was a finely tuned, high-energy set for a band who have been together for little more than one year.

Vistas’ contagious singles will continue to charm and perhaps as they continue to build upon their repertoire of releases this will add distinction within a fuller live set, compared to shorter festival slots which they conquered with ease.
