Not long after the MTV VMA’s have just finished, the nominations list for the upcoming MTV EMA’s have been announced.

It comes as no surprise that Lady GaGa and Katy Perry hold the most nominations, with a total of five each.

The two performers will compete with each other for the ‘Best Pop’, ‘Best Female’, ‘Best Song’ and ‘Best Video’ categories.

Lady GaGa is also nominated for ‘Best Live Act’ and Katy Perry ‘Best World Stage Performance’.

Believe it or not, it was Lady GaGa who walked away with last year’s ‘Best New Act’ award and since then she has taken award ceremonys alike by storm, including the recent MTV Video Music Awards where she managed to win a total of 8 awards.

Kings of Leon who were nominated for five awards at the 2009 EMAs are nominated for 2 awards and 30 Seconds To Mars are nominated for three prizes.

Eminem’s successful comeback continues with him gaining a total of four nominations and Usher is nominated for three awards.

This years ‘Best New Act’ shall see teenage pop sensation Justin Bieber up against Ke$ha, B.o.B, Jason Derulo
and Plan B.
