On the Road with April Towers

The Silent Fever tour came to a close in Bath – and what a ride it was.

From the bright lights of London to the cobbled streets of Gent and the canals of Utrecht, we brought the people music.

There was laughter, tension (mainly when I told Charlie to cash out a football bet after pretending his winning goal was disallowed), top-notch ‘bants’ and beer. A lot of beer.

Throughout our time on the road we made the AT beer list, featuring over 20 local delicacies, with our top three as follows:

1) Kriek Max (Belgium)
2) Innis and Gunn (Edinburgh)
3) Crime Passionnel (Utrecht)

Now this may sound like we only go on tour to go to pubs, and although this is partially true, we were on the road to promote our ‘Silent Fever’ EP which came out as the tour came to a rowdy end in Bath, with a full on stage invasion.

Each show was really different. From our first ever out-of-town headline show at the Sebright Arms in London which was a real moment for us, to an amazing gig in Coventry at the Kasbah, where we were told to make sure we were off by half past twelve because there were strippers coming on after us. Rock ‘n’ roll.

We want to say a huge thanks to everyone who bought a ticket and came to see us, to Josef Salvat for having us whilst in Europe and to every band we met who made us feel so welcome.

We are back in the studio now, but already planning our next voyage.

See you down the front sometime soon for festival season!

Alex and Charlie
