Preview | Eden Festival 2017

Eden Festival 2017 is almost upon us and despite the sun/rain/sun unpredictability of the Scottish weather it should be the festival’s biggest year yet with almost 9000 people due to party on down in the garden!

This year will also see day tickets being released for sale online and on the gate welcoming festival goers from all over the UK at what is now Scotland’s second biggest music festival, situated in Dumfries and Galloway on June 8th-11th.

Headliners include Cat Power, Alabama 3, Agnes Obel and Sunday night closing headline act Bony M with performances from Alice Russell, Admiral Fallow and So Solid Crew. There will be DJ sets from the likes of Mungo’s Hi-Fi, Jungle, Eva Lazurus Soundsystem and whole host of other acts.

With over 300 performers and 12 stages offering everything from a mix of music genres, theatre, comedy and art here is a handy guide of what not to miss at this year’s Eden!

Firstly, festival founder Adam Curtis advises everyone visiting take a good walk around the site and explore every nook and cranny as there is always something odd/exciting/creative going on!

Take a back seat in one of the festival’s vintage cars and watch a movie at the drive-in, or wander over to the new Mountain Stage, supported by EventScotland, which has been built from scratch and showcases the best acts on the Scottish music scene.

Mr Motivator in all his Lycra glory will be re-energizing you with an uplifting workout on Saturday afternoon at 2pm or watch Gypsy Disco do all the work in the Furry Chillum with an acrobatic performance.

Meanwhile get the kids involved in the Casa Caliente tent on the Open Mic Children’s Talent Stage and the kid’s procession, where they dress up and wave their handmade creations which they produced in the free weekend workshops.

Looking for a lorra love? Take part in Blind Date at the Thunderdome this Saturday at 3.30pm. If you’re feeling creative, join Vamous Arts who will be helping create masterpieces with paint and pencils for Eden’s very own charity auction.

Celebration Parade, a supercharged music finale in the Garden of Eden, Sunday at 7pm. Which you are advised to bring an instrument and/or something to bang!

For Day Tickets either pop along on the day or buy them here and for a full guide to this weekends shenanigans look here.
