Scotland’s top independent record labels will team up to host a label market in Glasgow this summer.

23rd Precinct Music,the Scottish Music Industry Association (The SMIA) and 57 Degrees North will host a free market showcasing top label signings from across the country under one roof.

Taking place at Glasgow’s Barras Art and Design Centre on Saturday 22nd July and Sunday 23rd July, the market will open from 11am to 6pm on the Saturday and 11am to 5pm for the Sunday session.

Projects and Operations Manager at The SMIA, Robert Kilpatrick, said: “Having worked with 57 Degrees North for the last three years on Independent Record Label Market: Aberdeen, we’re delighted to announce the inaugural Independent Record Label Market: Glasgow, now also working with our friends at 23rd Precinct Music.

“The SMIA is committed to representing and developing Scotland’s music industry, and label markets are a fantastic way to champion our country’s recorded output, as well as support Scotland’s independent record labels and artists. We look forward to seeing both music fans and industry practitioners gather together at BAaD on 22 and 23 July for what will be a great weekend for all.”
