Laura Mvula has been announced as the headliner for Stand Up To Cancer at Union Chapel 2017.
Returning on Friday 3rd February, Laura Mvula will headline the very special event with an exclusive stripped-back performance, alongside a whole host of top music talent.
Joining Laura on the line-up are London Contemporary Voices, The Beach and Passport To Stockholm , with a special guest to be announced.
Hosted by Edith Bowman, the event will take place at the iconic Union Chapel with doors opening at 6.30pm and live music from 7pm.
The gig will raise funds for Stand Up To Cancer, the joint fundraising campaign from Cancer Research UK and Channel 4, which has raised more than £38 million in the UK since its launch in 2012. Money raised from the gig will help fund research into new treatments and cures for cancer.
Director of Stand Up To Cancer Claire Rowney explained: “1 in 2 of us will get cancer in our lifetime and that statistic is the driving force behind Stand Up To Cancer and our ambition to beat cancer sooner. We’re hugely grateful to this stellar line-up of artists for supporting our rebellion against the disease – we simply couldnt do it without them. All the profits from the gig will go directly towards funding life-saving research that will bring new treatments to patients sooner and save more lives, more quickly.”
Tickets for the special show will go on sale on Friday 16th December, priced at £25 and subject to booking fee.
All profits raised from the event will go to Stand Up To Cancer.
