Review | Coasts | Glasgow Garage

Celebrating their recent self-titled debut album release, Coasts headlined Glasgow’s Garage G2.

Straight from their US tour, Coasts returned home for a headline UK tour ahead of their summer festival appearances at Sportbeat Festival and Liverpool Calling.

Joining the guys on their summer run was Huntar who had the Glasgow crowd on board with his futuristic R’n’B sound. With flawless vocals once again, he created a strong solo stage presence with his tracks packed with more than enough beats to get the crowd moving. Highlights in his set included recent hit ‘4am’, one of our recent featured tracks, alongside ‘Sk1n’ and ‘Autumn’.

Headliners Bristol boys Coasts had packed out the Glasgow venue, with a wide audience age range ready to groove. From youngsters down the front clutching their phones in their hands taking selfies before the band appeared on stage to those clutching a pint tapping their toes at the back.

With screams as frontman Chris Caines made his way onto the stage, the band launched straight into ‘Wallow’ to warm things up with their well crafted indie rock sound.

Within just a few tracks, the band had Glasgow grooving, bringing the vibe of the summer sunshine indoors.

The band’s set blended together tracks from their recent album release with ease, creating a flowing set packed with sunshine-fuelled hits.

As the crowd sang along and clambered onto each other’s shoulders towards the end of the night, set highlights included ‘Modern Love’, ‘You’, ‘Tonight’ and summer smash ‘Oceans’.

Creating a festival vibe with their powerful stage presence and captivating tunes, it’s hard to believe the guys are not set for more festivals this summer.

After kick starting their year with a very strong album release and the success of this UK tour, we’re looking forward to what lies ahead for the guys in 2016.

For now, we’ll certainly be adding their album to our summer playlist!
