Well, well well… what a weekend that was!
We are still recovering from our post-festival blues one week on from Slam Dunk 2015.
With the new layout across the City Centre of Leeds for Slam Dunk North, the main stage was situated perfectly in Millennium Square where we managed to catch some great music throughout the day…
Read on for our main stage highlights:
Pvris
Stepping straight up to the main stage for their UK festival debut, Pvris proved their spot with ease with great vocals from front woman Lynn Gunn as she commanded the stage. The Boston band celebrated in the sunshine with highlights including ‘Mirrors’ and ‘White Noise’.
Don Broco
The Don Broco lads always know how to put on a show, with their onstage presence, pristine dance moves and die-hard push up squad! They always delight fans with their cheeky chappy essence and treated us to hearing their new track, ‘Automatic’ live as well as an old classic ‘Thug Workout’.
Their new album, ‘Automatic’ is set to drop on 7th of August 2015.
Taking Back Sunday
With Slam Dunk being the only UK festival Taking Back Sunday are playing this year, we felt pretty privileged to be able to catch them live this summer.
Their setlist included the likes of ‘MakeDamnSure’, ‘Liar’, ‘Cute without the ‘E’ and ‘Flicker, Fade’.
Taking Back Sunday transported us back to their early years and showed us how they can still be awesome live more than 10 years on – a definite highlight of our Slam Dunk weekend!
You Me at Six
Prior to Slam Dunk this year, there was ongoing speculation regarding whether or not the You Me At Six lads were going to play their debut album, ‘Take Off Your Colours’ in full.
These rumours were quickly shot down by the band, however the Slam Dunk crowd were treated to several tracks from this album which the band had not played live for several years such as ‘The Rumour’, ‘Jealous Minds Think Alike’, ‘Kiss and Tell’ and ‘Save it for the Bedroom’.
The setlist provided the perfect mix of old and new with the crowd singing along word for word.
You Me At Six provided the perfect end to the perfect day with the old tracks providing some nostalgic memories for fans old and new…
