After a mammoth 22,700 votes, this year’s Scottish Alternative Music Awards 2013 winners have finally been revealed.

The winners are as follows;

• Best Rock Alternative sponsored by EmuBands  – CULANN
• Best Metal sponsored by The Cathouse Glasgow  – BEAR ARMS
• Best Live Act sponsored by Bar Bloc – THE OK SOCIAL CLUB
• Best Hip Hop sponsored by Splitter Scotland  – GASP
• Best Newcomer sponsored by The Academy Of Music & Sound – THE HOLY GHOSTS
• Best Acoustic sponsored by Jeremiah Weed – LITTLE FIRE
• Best Electronic sponsored by Red Dog Music – PLUM

The Ok Social Club, Roman Nose, Vigo Thieves, and Fat Goth – all SAMA nominees – performed to a sold out audience in The Garage, Glasgow. Awards were given out from key figures in the Scottish music industry such as Vic Galloway, Jim Gellatly, Ally McCrae, and a selection of ICW Wrestlers whilst being hosted from comedian Billy Kirkwood.
