Single Review | Bastille | Torn Apart

‘Torn Apart’ is the first piece of new music from Bastille since their debut album re-release ‘All This Bad Blood’ and it certainly makes a big impact.

It’s easy to hear from the first few bars that this is something quite different to the Bastille we are used to, featuring quick beats and a huge dance chorus.

The band have said in the past that they enjoy the freedom that making mixtapes provides and this song proves just that, joining forces with London producer Grades to create something people won’t be expecting. Although quite different, Dan Smith’s signature voice teamed with haunting echoes still dominate the track. It is a real mix of their classic sound with a fresh electro feel on top.

It may take some fans a little time to adjust to this slightly new direction but it’s certainly an addictive tune that hooks you in almost instantly, just like the rest of their discography.

‘Torn Apart’ is a brilliant dance pop track with all the perfect ingredients to do well and certainly creates excitement for their upcoming EP release.

The single has been lifted from Bastille’s upcoming mixtape VS. (Other People’s Heartbreak Part III), set for release on 8th December. ‘Torn Apart’ is available to download now.
