Single Review | Morain | Who Would’ve Known

MorainMorain are a four-piece hailing from Wakefield with one simple mission – to make great music.

‘Who Would’ve Known’ is the band’s first single from upcoming EP ‘World’s Apart’ and certainly ticks all the boxes.

From the start, Wil Frost’s endearing but powerful vocals can be heard above a chilled out guitar track, instantly hooking in your ears and keeping your attention.

Summer vibes can be felt throughout the record, though even more so when the guitars really kick in towards the chorus. As Frost sings ‘Who Would’ve Known’ with almighty passion, it’s easy to imagine huge festival crowds singing it right back.

The band’s stirring harmonies are reminiscent of You Me At Six, creating similar uplifting crescendos that make you want to throw your hands up in the air.

A moving guitar solo right before the final chorus brings the song to such a high that it’s almost impossible not to listen without a smile. The band’s glorious mix of beautiful harmonies and charming riffs throughout ensures that they have already placed their own individual stamp on the indie music scene. This effortlessly cool and confident record signals a seriously bright future.

Morain’s addictive happiness will hook you in, get stuck in your head and leave you wanting more.
