Minus The Bear; Steel and Blood

Ella Selfe

American indie-rock band Minus the Bear clearly show their talent and experience in their latest single ‘Steel and Blood’.

With over ten years’ worth of accumulating fans along with the fact that the pre-sale for the track’s 7” inch vinyl sold out in less than two hours, the expectation and anticipation is vividly apparent.

The song is absorbing, with confident sounding instruments and vocals from start to finish. The lead vocals are prominent at the beginning of each verse but as the track begins to build up to the chorus, the guitars seem to dominate the song. However, they both work well together to create an impressive sound.

There are obvious levels to this track, with the soaring guitars giving it an almost electric feel and each element of the song shows off the uniqueness and craft of the band. The tempo is steady but strong only helping to add to the boldness of the song.

Overall, it is a huge track which won’t leave the eager fans disappointed.

‘Steel and Blood’ will be released on August 20th and the album ‘Infinity Overhead’ will follow in September.
