T in the Park 2014: Saturday highlights

The rain may have poured but it didn’t stop the Balado crowd, here’s a look at our day two highlights.

The 1975
As Matty Healy strolled onto the stage with a bottle of wine in one hand and cigarette in the other, it was clear that the band felt right at home on the festival stage. The rain may have worsened through the set, but that didn’t stop the crowd dancing along to tracks from the band’s debut album ‘The 1975’. The four-piece maintained high energy throughout the set as Healy jumped from the stage to embrace the rain with fans for a selfie or two.

Twin Atlantic
A large crowd gathered to catch the Glasgow guys on the main stage and despite the rain punters were giving it ‘laldy’. Before the band appeared on the stage, the ‘here we’ chants had already taken over. Hands were in the air, pints were flying across the crowd and the Scottish accent singing along was clear to hear.

Calvin Harris
There was an obvious reason Calvin Harris was given the late night slot at T in the Park on Saturday night as he managed to create a mini Ibiza in the middle of Balado. Of course, that’s not mentioning the fact he was introduced on stage by his new pal Will Smith. It was easy to forget you were standing in the middle of a field in the pouring rain as the tunes kept you going throughout the night until an explosive finale.
