Track of the Day | The New Coast – Slow Down

The New CoastThe summer might be drawing to a close but fear not, indie-pop duo The New Coast are here to spread some sunshine with new single ‘Slow Down’.

This will be released ahead of their forthcoming EP ‘Paraga Beach’ which is set to be released on November 4th via LAB Records.

Made up of members Nick Blyth and Chris Cheater from East-London, they are inspired by American cinema and pop culture which helps create their signature tropical sound with darker undertones.

New track ‘Slow Down’ falls directly into the ambient category with twangy guitars and affecting lyrics which lead you to reminisce about hazy summer nights ending on an anthemic high.

The New Coast describe the connection between their love of cinema and their brand of alt-pop; “Lyrically, setting a scene in our heads with words that feel slightly out of reach and detached from real life, like films, appeals to us as a band. This is how cinema and the world of film influences our sound”.
