Top 5 emerging acts at Hit The North Festival

The debut Hit The North Festival will take over Newcastle city centre on April 28th.

Split across 15 venues featuring more than 80 bands on the line-up, the multi-venue festival will take over the toon showcasing hotly-tipped talent alongside established acts ranging from intimate acoustic sets to packed Academy slots.

Ahead of the festival, we take a look at 5 emerging bands we reckon you should check out…

The Pale White

Newcastle trio Pale White will open the O2 Academy stage kick starting this year’s Hit The North Festival. Featured as one of our recent Introducing artists, the tipped trio are certainly gaining momentum ahead of their support slot with Twin Atlantic next month.

Paris Youth Foundation

It’s not often a band has their debut show at Reading Festival… Liverpool alt-rockers Paris Youth Foundation kickstarted their career on the festival circuit just last year and have quickly made their way onto stations including Radio 1 and Radio X, alongside live shows for NME and BBC Introducing. Their Newcastle O2 Academy 2 slot comes ahead of their tour with The Magic Gang.

Plaza

Releasing their debut EP ‘Wernotplaza’ earlier this month via Beyond the Wall Records, Plaza will head to Newcastle following their recent tour support slot with fellow festival performers HAUS. With their live shows gaining a reputation for the unexpected, get ready to cause chaos at Digital.

King Nun

Ahead of the release of their new single ‘Hung Around’, King Nun will bring their 90’s grunge meets punk sound to the city. Squeezing in a Newcastle show on their summer festival schedule, which includes appearances at The Great Escape, Latitude and Leeds and Reading, this band are bound to leave their mark on Jumpin’ Jacks.

Get Inuit

Named as one of Annie Mac’s Ones to Watch last year, Get Inuit have spent the last 12 months refining their sound. Continuing their BBC Radio 1 relationship, with all 11 of their singles landing slots on the airwaves, the band will head to Newcastle’s Town Wall for their first of six festival appearances of the year.
