Track of the Day | The Rose Affair – Caffeine

The Rose AffairThe Rose Affair have unveiled their latest single ‘Caffeine’.

Following the release of their second EP, the Cambridge alt-rockers have released a new track as a teaser of things to come this summer.

Speaking of the single, frontman Lucas Jones explained: “‘Caffeine’ is about how everyone chooses their addictions, the obvious stuff being sex, booze etc. but whether it’s an unhealthy relationship, attention from others or just that religious morning coffee, everyone has their drug. In this case, personally, it’s about ego and how too much of a good thing can be a terrible thing. I have a weird, macabre fascination with plane crashes (for some reason) that’s become a theme throughout our most recent tracks. For me, it kind of parallels the Icarus mythology, flying too close to the sun, getting too far ahead of yourself type thing.”

‘Caffeine’ oozes an instantly cool vibe with Lucas’ distinct vocals leading the way, with addictive riffs, a catchy beat and lasting lyrics, you’ll find yourself unknowingly singing along hours after listening.
