Track of the Day | VITO – Moonlight Dancing

Newcastle’s VITO have unveiled their second single ‘Moonlight Dancing’.

Airing on BBC Radio 6 with Tom Robinson, the single follows the band’s fivefold slot at this year’s Great Escape Festival.

Speaking of their new single, frontman Tom Conway explained the meaning behind the track: “The idea for the lyrics came from a drunken argument between two of my friends who happen to be boyfriend and girlfriend. We were in town and they had some argument about something daft and stopped talking to each other. As the night went on and they got more drunk they started to drift back together and were fine by the time the night was over. I took that idea and tried to make it a bit more poetic and poignant…”

With its 1975-esque intro, ‘Moonlight Dancing’ quickly transcends into an upbeat indie single with lyrics that instantly feel familiar creating a track set for singalongs.
