Today VICE and Marshall Headphones premiere episode four of On the Road.

On the Road, is a twelve part documentary series produced by VICE and Marshall Headphones. Presented by Jesse Hughes for the first six episodes and Tim Harrington for the next, On the Road celebrates the travelling rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle playing tribute to the unsung, behind-the-scenes heroes that make the gigs happen.

In this episode Jesse investigates the women on the road, and finds out how it is to be involved in such a male dominated world and how women deal with the boys’ club.

First up, Jesse goes to the Museum of Death, with one of his heroes and mentors, Ian Astbury of The Cult. They talk about roadies and their behavior on the road; including how women are treated in the world of rock ‘n’ roll. Jesse then goes and talks to three women who know more about the business than most: Megan Tobin, ex-lighting tech for the likes of Metallica, Michael Jackson and Guns’n’Roses, Patty Schemel, exdrummer for Hole and Laura-Jean Hyde who has worked on tours with the likes of Alice Cooper and Rob Zombie. The three women shed light on some pretty crazy stories that they have witnessed whilst touring with some of the great legends.
