Album Review | Echo Arcadia | Beauty In An Average Life

echo arcadiaNewly signed with Spectra Records, Echo Arcadia released their debut album ‘Beauty In An Average World’ earlier this year.

The six-piece band are proud of what they’ve achieved – with good reason – and are looking forward to playing their music to multitudes of music lovers.

Frontman and rhythm guitarist, Leigh, describes their music as “a mix of indie rock and post punk revival, with a massive pool of influences shaping our sound into something a little different.”

The album’s opening track, Sparks, fulfills this statement as is comes creeping into the system with an energetic drumbeat. The guitar riffs in this song are harmoniously matched by the mesmerizing vocals. As Apple Moon comes along there’s a sense of calm and it beckons you to sway from head to toe.

Love Song then comes crashing through the system with a powerful and varied sound of their chosen instruments. Joker follows in suit with a focus on a rhythmic beat. It grabs your senses and throws you from side to side in a hypnotic trance to get you dancing.

Keeping the tempo nice and slow, Hide And Seek lives up to its title as it takes you through the journey of looking and hoping to find love. It carries the hypnotic feel of the first track, leaving you hopeful and dazed. Four Lights kicks the tempo up a beat and has you back on the dance floor grooving to the beat.

As the album begins to close, High Hopes and Low Expectations comes through with a little bit more attitude and has you chilling, listening to the lyrics. It’s dark, yet appealing to the senses. Satellite carries the same darkish tones, drawing listeners even closer that before.

Before everything comes to a halt, Lucinda brings that light back in and has you welcoming the warmth of the accompaniment and vocals. It’s dreamy and just as mesmerizing as the album began.

Into Another Day closes the album with a mystical feel, leaving you breathless from start to finish. It’s a simple yet powerful track to close an incredibly eclectic album.

Overall, Beauty In An Average Life is a beautifully diverse album. There’s something for everyone. Get your hands on it today.
