amilost have released their new single ‘Tiny War’.
Out now via Icons Creating Evil Art, the single is the second track from their upcoming EP.
Speaking of the single, the band said: “It was written on the day Sigrid broke up with her boyfriend. ‘Tiny War’ is about the end of a relationship. It’s about trying everything to make it work, including changing yourself so much that you almost don’t recognise who you are any more. In the end, you realise that you have to let it go.”
Kristian Kristensen – E Du Her
Love Kristian’s sound on this record and it’s an inspiration for those melancholic, existential songs. We love the intimate nature of the voice and piano – we wanted to start ‘Tiny War’ from small beginnings like these. Ross is a big fan of the drum parts on this record.
Emilie Nicolas – Feel Fine
Such a beautiful soundscape from one of our favourite Norwegian artists! Everything about this record is a big inspiration from classical parts, to vocal ideas. The way she flows in her writing and top-line ideas is always an influence for Sigrid, who has listened to Emilie for years growing up in her native Norway. Production choices are always so tasteful too!
Sigur Ros – Hoppipolla
One of the fundamental reasons we make the music we do. The way they build from small beginnings to chaotic, ethereal beauty is one of our faves. We harnessed some of this vibe for our outro with the big driving drums, contrasted with beautiful string and piano parts.
Gungor – Let There Be
Love the build in this one and the introverted epicness. The haunted string parts and big drums are a strong reference point for us.
Noah Henderson – Floorboards
We love the build and sentiment of this song and the general vibe of Noah’s production and artistic sound. We wanted to create a big soundscape like this one, which can be heard in our first chorus. His gentle beginnings contrasted with the outro smash were a bit of a blueprint for our ideas.
