Charlotte OC | 5 tracks that influenced Seriously Love, Go Home

Charlotte OC has released her new EP ‘Seriously Love, Go Home’.

‘Seriously Love, Go Home’ marks a turning point for Charlotte OC, a raw, emotional release that closes one chapter and opens the door to something new.

Speaking of the new EP, she said: “I’m letting go of a lot in this EP. These songs feel like a bridge to the next phase of my musical life, and I’m so grateful for that. I worked with some of the most genuine and lovely people on this project, and I’m just really happy it’s out in the world now. It’s given me a sense of momentum again, and made me genuinely excited about all of this. I really hope this EP can reach anyone who’s going through it, whether you’re feeling heartbreak, falling in love for the first time, or learning how to carry loss. I hope it keeps you company.”

To celebrate the EP release, Charlotte shared 5 tracks that influenced ‘Seriously Love, Go Home’.

The Moody Blues – Nights in White Satin
It’s just so haunting. I can really feel every emotion in his voice. The chorus lyrics are so simple, but they say everything they need to say. I feel like this song — and the mood of it — has had such a massive influence on the kind of world I’m naturally drawn to. The lyrics aren’t complicated. It just says it how it is. And I’m super attracted to that.

Irma Thomas – Anyone Who Knows What Love Is
I listened to this song a lot when I was going through it in London. It’s just so beautiful. You can’t help but hang on every single word she’s saying. The backing vocals are a massive favourite for me too — so simple and so of a time. It just works.

Midlake – Roscoe (Beyond the Wizard’s Sleeve Remix)
I listen to this song pretty much every day. It’s got everything I need in a song. I can’t even really explain it — I just know it’ll always be in the back of my mind whenever I’m creating.

Johnny Cash – I Walk the Line
When we were working on the production for The Letter, Johnny Cash was always front of mind. There’s a simplicity to this song that makes every element stand out.

Bat For Lashes – Daniel
I don’t think I’ll ever stop being influenced by this song or by her, full stop. It never leaves my side, no matter how many years pass. It’s a masterpiece in my eyes.
