Citadel 2016 reveals festival line-up

Citadel 2016Citadel has announced the first batch of acts set for this year’s festival with headliner Sigur Rós.

The celebration of music, food and creativity will return to London’s Victoria Park on July 17th.

Joining headliners Sigur Rós on the main stage are:
Caribou
Nathaniel Rateliff and The Night Sweats
Calexico
Cat’s Eyes
Susanne Sundfør
Antimony
Cosmic Strip

Alongside the main stage action, Communion and Soundcrash will return to curate two stages at the one-day event.

Communion’s headliner Lianne La Havas will be joined by Matt Corby, Matthew and the Atlas, Billie Marten, Rukhsana Merrise, Gillbanks and James Canty.

The Soundcrash line-up will be headlined by Submotion Orchestra with support from GoGo Penguin, Tinariwen, Maribou State and Akala.

Making their Citadel debut, clubbing institution fabric will host Sunday sessions with DJ Andrew Weatherall, Jazzanova, Pedestrian and The 2 Bears.

If that’s not enough to whet your appetite – Kopparberg will serve up its ciders in the Urban Forest with a programme of artists and DJs on stage.

The festival will also see talks, debates and performances from thinkers, journalists, politicians, poets and rappers, alongside long table feasts from Michelin-starred pub The Sportsman and street food from London’s top vendors.

From comedy and theatre to dance workshops and art hubs, you can also enjoy a pampering session with massage therapies and treat yourself to a makeover.

There’ll even be a Rock N Roller Skate with tunes provided by iconic nightclub Cherry Cola, where you can spin around to the sound of blues and soul.
