Coyle Girelli has released his new single ‘True Love Forever’.
The track was written for and taken from an immersive upcoming theatre collaboration with Third Rail Projects.
Speaking of the release, Coyle said: “The song was inspired by a moment in the show that was lacking,” shares Coyle of the True Love Forever single origin story. “It’s a moment when the couple in the show first fall in love. That euphoria. That feeling that everything is wonderful and everything is going to be alright. That may or may not be how the story ends, so it is tinged with a slight melancholy but in this moment lyrically and emotionally they ask themselves: ‘is this it? Is it true love forever?’”
To celebrate his single, Coyle shared with us 5 tracks that influenced the release.
Kate Bush – Hounds of Love | Listen via Spotify
When I first heard this album, and in particular this song, it was like nothing else I’d ever heard. Kate Bush is a genius. A musical Goddess and one of the main influences on my music. I go back to her music time and time again when I’m writing. Melodies, rhythms, poetry. Pure artistry. All hail Kate Bush!
Bruce Springsteen – Born To Run | Listen via Spotify
What do you even say about this song and album? Like Kate Bush, Bruce has been a constant in my life – in particular this song which changed everything for me. There’s a pre and post ‘Born To Run’ me. I remember hearing it and thinking – “I wanna make music that feels like that”
Roy Orbison – Crying | Listen via Spotify
The greatest male voice in rock ‘n’ roll history. An angel capable of bringing anyone with a soul to tears with his melody and tone. The perfect heartbreak song. Shattering in its lyrics and Roy’s delivery of it. The KD Lang duet version is stunning as well. Roy is a big influence on me and this is undoubtedly my favorite of his.
Oasis – Supersonic | Listen via Spotify
Rock ‘n’ roll. The world is lacking in proper rockstars right now. These guys were the real deal when they came out and this song characterized it all. And they’re Man City fans so that’s extra points.
David Bowie – Life on Mars | Listen via Spotify
A masterpiece. Every moment. Every note. Every bizarre lyric. Bowie was a rare one. Up there on his own in terms of his artistry, influence and talent in my humble opinion. This song is perhaps his magnum opus. The strings, the orchestral moments, the piano, Bowie’s unique vocal delivery, the guitars. What a song.
