Devil Sold His Soul are set to release their brand new album ‘Empire Of Light’ on September 17th through new label, Small Town Records.
‘Empire Of Light’ was produced by Johnny Renshaw (guitarist from the band), and mixed by Alan Douche at West Side (Converge, Mastodon, Dillinger Escape Plan).
Speaking of the album’s release Ed (Gibbs, vocals) explains;
“Lyrically this album is about strength and perseverance through adverse situations, it’s about getting up when you’ve been knocked down and still pushing forwards. There is a quote in the movie ‘Rocky Balboa’ that we all love where Stallone says “The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get it and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done!” It’s just such a moving speech, and it really sums up the message we’re trying to put across.”
The first track released on the record will be ‘No Remorse, No Regrets’, which will had its very first airing this week on the Radio 1 Rock Show with Daniel P Carter. The song is available for free download now from the bands Facebook page.
