Eden Festival | Children’s Arena – What’s On

Scotland’s family-friendly Eden Festival have announced this year’s Children Arena’s programme, which is sure to keep both parents and younger festival goers happy!

This will be Eden Festival’s 10th birthday and it is set to return to Raehill Meadows in the picturesque Dumfries and Galloway on June 7-10th, hosting 12 stages and over 300 performers.

Eden Festival has free activities for children of all ages, starting with several workshops in the craft tent, led by experienced professionals.

Activities include mask making, puppet making, carnival hats, capes and anything your kid’s imagination can conjure up! For creative types there will be screen printed t-shirts and jewellery making classes with a professional artist.

If your kids love the outdoors there are plenty of games to enjoy in the fresh air including mammoth parachute, Earthball or giant-sized Ker-Plunk! There might even be a spot of sock wrestling…

For something a bit more genteel, they can take part in spin art on an old potters wheel. Toddlers can also enjoy song time, yoga and messy play which will be on every day of the festival.

Over in the baby tent, there will be dancing sessions and baby massage and a warm and comfortable place to feed your baby.

The little theatre has drama and dance workshops with lots of props and costumes. There will also be storytelling by a published author and professional puppet shows for everyone to enjoy!

Older kids and teens can get involved with Forest Skills, a programme of environmental crafts and activities. There will also be film showings and open mic sessions in Casa Caliente.

This year Eden Festival will be welcoming the Institute of Physics with their daily programme of science stories to keep young scientists engaged.

Sara Best, Children’s Programmer said, “This year we have an even fuller programme than last year with many new and exciting workshops planned, highlights for me include the Saturday treasure hunt and our wonderful Sunday family parade.

It’s set to be an exciting weekend, a time for you to relax and enjoy Eden Festival with your children in a safe environment.”

The festival has announced that tickets for under 5’s are free and teenage tickets are available for discounted rates!
