Wicked Snakes are debuting their EP, ‘Lead Me To The Sun’. This four-piece heavy mental rock band is turning heads in order to incline metal-heads’ eyes and ears to what they bring unto the scene.
A Ceremony opens the EP with dizzy spells from the introductory bass notes, but bursts into screams and heavy electric tunes before your energy levels hit the floor. This track does not fall short in summoning listeners to raise their fists and bang their heads from side to side.
Death Notes rolls in with attitude in the vocals, while the accompaniment strides along with sass – definitely nothing short of hot. But the heat dwindles to a simmer as, Lead Me to the Sun waltzes in with a sweet guitar riff. Although it takes the tempo down a notch or two, it’s still got a dose of defiance in its entirety.
Cause / Effect keeps the slower tempo, but has a strong and fuller accompaniment. Taking the tempo back up to where it was earlier, Cold Heart just screams the story of a lover who’s turned cold.
Choirs closes the EP with the tempo on the slower side once more, while the accompaniment is attempting to keep the energy flowing. It’s a good song to end on and it really hones in on the idea of “the end”.
Overall, Lead Me To The Sun is a great EP to debut into the music scene. The vocals are controlled and strong, while the accompaniment is just as powerful and leaves you listening for cues on how to move around in the pit.
